The god of lightning, thunder, and the sky
Zeus is the son of Cronus and Rhea. Cronus and Rhea had six children, including Zeus, but the instant they were born, Cronus swallowed them, as one was destined to overthrow him, just as he had done to his father. Rhea was grief-struck and asked Gaea to save her final child. When Zeus was born Gaea hid him in a cave he was raised by the nymph Melissa, the goat Amalthea, and the Kouretes who danced, shouted, and struck their spears against their shields so Cronus would not hear his crying. When Zeus grew-up he gave his father a herb that made him throw up his brothers and sisters. With all of them united they defeated Cronus and put the Titans in tarturt. Zeus has two aspects, one is peace time law and the other war time law. During peace time law, Zeus was not as harsh and a little calmer. He also made better decisions because he was not rushed. In war time law he was rushed and he did not think through his decisions. Like in the Iliad and the Odyssey, he was in war time law, so his punishments were harsher.
